Liam Munro (Creston Valley Thunder Cats), Chase Bambrick (Creston Valley Thunder Cats) and Tyson Endall (100 Mile House Wranglers) have been selected as the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League 3 Stars of the Week for the period ending March 9/25.
Munro – Top Forward – The Calgary native scored two goals and collected six assists, while playing an average of 28:41 a game to help the Thunder Cats go 2-2 against the Kimberley Dynamiters. He was also plus two. Munro was a driving force in a 7-2 win on March 3, scoring the opening goal and collecting three assists. In a 6-3 win over the Dynamiters, Munro had two assists. In Games 5 and 6, both losses, Munro had a goal and an assist and finished the Teck Cup playoffs with three goals and nine points in six games.
Bambrick – Top Defenceman – The Creston native had a goal and seven assists in four games for the Thunder Cats, while playing an average of 26:47 a game and was plus six. In their 7-2 win over the Dynamiters on March 3, Bambrick played a big factor in that win with four assists, including on the winning goal. In the 6-3 win against the Dynamiters on March 4, Bambrick had another strong performance with a goal and two assists. In the final two games of the series, Bambrick had two assists. He finished the Teck Cup playoffs with a goal and 10 points in six playoff games, which leads the KIJHL.
Endall – Top Goalie – The Chestermere, Alta., native won three of his four games for the Wranglers against the Williams Lake Mustangs. He saved 145 of 152 shots for a 1.63 goals against average and a .954 save percentage in 257 minutes of action. Endall earned a 37-save shutout against the Mustangs on March 4 in a 1-0 overtime win. On March 7, Endall had another big performance, making 41 saves in a 4-3 win. Endall helped the Wranglers win their series with a 31-save performance in a 5-1 win on March 8.
