Luke Chakrabarti (Creston Valley Thunder Cats), Eithan Grishin (Beaver Valley Nitehawks) and Ryder Gregga (100 Mile House Wranglers) have been selected as the Instat KIJHL 3 Stars of the Week for the period ending Dec. 18.
Chakrabarti – Top Forward – The White Rock, B.C. product had four goals and three assists in two games to help the Thunder Cats pick up a pair of wins over the Fernie Ghostriders, 5-4 in overtime, and the Beaver Valley Nitehawks, 6-4. Against Fernie, Chakrabarti had two goals, including one to send the game into OT. Against the Nitehawks, Chakrabarti was in on five of the six Thunder Cats goals, with two goals and three assists. The weekend performance has Chakrabarti tied for the KIJHL’s points lead with 53, and is tied for the league lead in goals with 26. It’s the third time that Chakrabarti has been named the Top Forward.
Grishin – Top Defenceman – The Richmond product had a goal and two assists in the Nitehawks’ 6-4 loss to the Thunder Cats. Grishin is second among Nitehawks defenceman in points with 14 points in 23 games. It’s the second time that Grishin has been named the Top Defenceman.
Gregga – Top Goalie – The Markham, Ontario product earned his first KIJHL shutout with a 29-save performance against the Chase Heat in a 2-0 win. In 17 games, Gregga has four wins with a .913 SP and a 3.25 GAA. Gregga has won two of his last three games for the Wranglers.
