Nathan Bohmer of the Kamloop Storm has committed to play for the Logan Lake Miners in the British Columbia Intercollegiate Hockey League for the 2024-25 season.
Bohmer has 27 points in 35 games with the 100 Mile House Wranglers and Storm this season. Born in Prince George, the Logan Lake resident committed to the Miners in September to attend Thompson Rivers University.
“They are a new program trying to build a good team, and the management group has a lot of knowledge and connections toward the Europe route. That is where I would like to take my steps if I’m going to continue my career,” said Bohmer, who began his KIJHL career in 2021-22 with the Wranglers, registering 17 goals and 23 points in 22 games before signing with the BCHL’s Coquitlam Express.
Bohmer secured the commitment with support from former Wranglers head coach-GM Dale Hladun and current interim head coach Lee Hansen.
Bohmer has developed a stronger defensive game, becoming more responsible with the puck and patient. Since joining the Storm on the Jan. 10 trade deadline, he has eight points in eight games, including five goals, but he is more focused on helping his new team pursue its goal of winning the KIJHL Teck Cup championship.
